Check out Norwegian cruiselines at the start and end of each season (September and April) to get in on these repositioning cruises. Its a great way to celebrate a special day. New Zoo Revue

Have you discovered the Cougar Mountain Zoo yet? This gem is located off of I-90 just before you get into Issaquah. We spent a rainy Sunday there feeding the animals zoo-approved apples, oohing and ahhing about the bengal tiger cubs, and chatting with the friendly zoo staff. Visit www.cougarmountainzoo.com for more info. This is a new favorite!

Just because school started doesn't mean its too late to get to the zoo. Point Defiance now has lemurs, budgies and meercats in addition to the sharks, tigers and elephants. Explore the wild side!

3 Art Shows by Local Artists

While you are in downtown Puyallup, don't forget to visit the three free galleries which feature local artists: City Hall; the Premiere Gallery in the Activity Center (just off Pioneer, behind Forza coffee); and the Chamber office at 323 N. Meridian. Also, Puyallup Custom Art and Frame on Meridian features the vibrant works of our own Jake Hose (pictured).

Tenino: Wine Festival This Weekend

My dad tells me that 10-9-0 was the name of the train that ran this route so, of course, they named the town Tenino (pronounced 10-9-0). Whether or not you believe that tale, consider visiting Tenino this weekend for the art and music festival. There is a small but good quality farmers market in town that runs Saturday until 3:00pm. If you are looking for the best $1 hotdog ever, stop by Ed's Sunset Grill on the south end of town. The bun is grilled and the $1 includes saurerkraut and onions. Yum!
